Flipkart says that the Moto G5 Plus smartphone, that was exclusively launched on the e-commerce site, was the fastest smartphone to be sold in that price segment. The site experience a whopping 50 sales a minute of the smartphone. The e-commerce site has not yet given an exact number as to how many phones were sold, but one of the cheaper variants is said to be sold out in minutes after the sales went online.
High Number of Exchanges
Flipkart says that over 4000 older Motorola phones were exchanged by those buying the new phone. The Moto G5 Plus with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage was the phone that was sold the most. Flipkart said that their exchange offers were actually helping them to boost sales.
Ayyappan R, Director for Mobiles at Flipkart, in a press statement, said that the Moto G5 Plus actually satisfies the customers’ demands and the e-commerce site has made the latest technology affordable.
The Buyback Scheme
Another interesting scheme by Flipkart is that the company would buy back the phone with a minimum price of Rs. 7000 if it is exchanged within six months after the purchase. It can be availed along with an exchange offer of up to Rs 13, 500 off on Flipkart for other smartphones. The offer is valid till March 31st.
The Moto G5 Plus is priced a bit higher than what the G series phones are priced at. However, the G5 plus, it still an affordable premium with a metal clad body, dual pixel auto-focus cameras, a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 625 processor and a 3000 mAh battery. Also, it runs on the newest Android N 7.
The G5 Plus comes in two variants. One variant has 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, whereas the other one has a 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage.
