It’s a new year and time has come for a new phone from Samsung and Apple. Rumors regarding the new phones are surfacing each day. The Samsung Galaxy S8 versus the Apple iPhone 8 battle has begun even though both the devices are still in the pipeline. The Galaxy S8 will launch earlier, followed by the iPhone 8. Here are the rumors and leaks about the two phones that have surfaced as of now.
Samsung Galaxy S8
In a new video where Samsung was showing off their new AMOLED display, they showed a phone that is speculated to be the Galaxy S8. The phone has very this bezels, the display curved on the side edges, and minimal bezels on the top and bottom. The bottom now has no buttons or fingerprint sensor, the top just houses the front camera, earpiece and other sensors.
According to TechRadar, this is going to be a huge upgrade. Rumors speculate a 4K screen measuring 6.1 inches, a Snapdragon 830 SoC, 6GB RAM, 30 MP dual lens camera, 8 MP front camera and 4200mAh battery. The S8 is also rumored to come with Bluetooth 5 and a Bluetooth headset in the box, since nobody is sure about the inclusion of the 3.5mm jack. Also, Samsung will finally include stereo speakers on this device.
Apple iPhone 8
According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone 8 series is going to be huge with 4.7 to 5.8 curved OLED screens, all glass design, wireless charging, and a home button that is embedded into the screen. There is also a huge change that Apple is adding Augmented Reality in their smartphones. Now, it is not sure what the actual implementation will look like.
“The way Apple envisions implementing augmented reality into the iPhone is multi-faceted. For instance, Apple envisions iPhone users being able to point their cameras at any number of objects and have the device itself recognize what’s in frame,” says columnist Yoni Heisler.
Also, there has been rumors stating that the iPhone 8 camera will be able to detect and manipulate faces. This has caused a lot of excitement in the smartphone world.
