After the introduction of Reliance Jio’s services, a lot of phone makers are bringing in VoLTE enabled devices in the Indian market. During October, they released the Ultra50. The main focus with the Ultra30 is the VoLTE capabilities and the large battery. With so many of us using cellular data to stay online 24×7, a large battery has now become a critical requirement while buying phones. Most of us carry portable chargers with us while on the go. Videocon wanted to address to that issue.
An Mid Range Device
The Videocon Ultra30 is essentially a mid range device. It comes with a 1.3 GHz 64-bit quad core MediaTek processor. It also comes with a beefy 3GB RAM and 32 GB on-board storage that can be expanded via microSD. The screen has 1280×720 pixels, is 5 inches across and has 2.5D curved glass.
What is notable is the 4000mAh battery. It will give a full day’s back up even with heavy use, and can last two days with a single charge if used efficiently.
In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash, along with a 5MP front camera with LED flash too. The rear camera features PDAF and ISOCELL technologies. There are also software tweaks that allows the phone to take sharper low light shots and wide angled panorama shots.
The device runs on Android 6.0. It will probably be updated to 7.0 in the near future.
Available at a reduced price
At the time of writing this article, the Ultra30 is available at Snap deal at INR 8590. It is a special introductory offer. The blue-gold color is available right now.
The Ultra30 has nothing special in terms of a smartphone. It strictly aims to be a value-for-money device, a category that is always in demand in emerging markets, such as India.
